Our first birthday working with Paperworks!
Last September BCD partnered with a local social enterprise called Paperworks. From the very beginning BCD aimed to be socially conscious and somehow be able to give back to the local community. We had grown out of the current premises in September 2018 and required a new space to store our stock and be able to fulfil our customers' rising demands. Along came Paperworks, a social enterprise whose main aim is to provide work preparation training and support to adults with learning, physical and mental health-related disabilities.
We not only required a warehouse space but needed a range of different tasks completing that fit perfectly with the aims of Paperworks. After initial talks we at BCD saw that our partnership was going to work perfectly and will be working alongside them for a long time in the future. A year later and we are celebrating our first birthday together. Over the year the trainees at Paperworks have been involved in many different things. Working alongside our warehouse manager Yamin, who oversees all trainees' tasks and involvement, they have performed and met our needs to high standards.
Everyone at Paperworks is understanding and very flexible to meeting any needs that we require. Trainees are very welcoming and work very hard in whatever they are tasked to do. They always bring a smile to our faces when we visit the premises. With the first year being so successful we look forward to the next year and beyond!
